Margaret River, Western Australia - Vasse Felix - Cabernet Merlot

The winemakers of Vasse Felix in the Margaret River region of Western Australia have created a realy full bodied Cabernet Merlot here! With ripe black cherry, plums and strong licorice with hints of spearmint and vanilla finding their way through at the end. Definately a fruit driven wine offering a savoury complexity with ceadar and cherry wood characters picked up from the barrel backer up with the hint of subtle tannins.

We enjoyed our bottle of Vasse Felix - Cabernet Merlot - 2005 with a vegetarian leek, mushroom and sweet chestnut pie with steamed new potatoes, broad beans and baby carrots, the strong wine flavours lifting the meal to a new height!
